Enteroviruses (EV) and parechoviruses (PeV) are common viral pathogens that can lead to serious conditions such as aseptic meningitis and encephalitis. Therefore, accurate and timely detection is essential. In this webinar, we’ll focus on the validation of a novel digital PCR (dPCR) assay for the detection and quantification of EV and PeV in pediatric clinical specimens.
During the talk, you'll learn about these key areas:
- The use of the QIAcuity dPCR system for sensitive detection and absolute quantification of viral loads across a range of pediatric sample types, including cerebrospinal fluid, blood, stool, urine and respiratory specimens
- The assay design, developed to target conserved regions of the EV and PeV genomes, optimizing both sensitivity and specificity
- Key performance metrics such as the limit of detection and quantification
- The validation process, which included testing clinical samples from pediatric patients
- How this assay provides insights into viral load dynamics, with a particular focus on its utility in clinical settings
Don’t miss this opportunity to see real-world results and ask questions about the future of dPCR for pathogen testing in clinical labs.
