Amy currently serves as Associate Director, Global Product Management and North America Marketing for QIAGEN, HID & Forensics. Amy is the Global Product Manager for QIAGEN’s newly launched HID sample prep instrument, the EZ2 Connect Fx.She has over 20 years of experience in the HID field, both in a casework laboratory as well as marketing, business development, and product management for HID products.Amy holds a B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven, and more recently completed her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Devanshi Desai, Criminalist II

SFPD Criminalistics Laboratory

Devanshi Desai is currently a Criminalist II at the San Francisco Police Department Criminalistics Laboratory. Devanshi previously worked at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York City as a Criminalist and at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston, Texas as a DNA Analyst.She has also worked at Gene by Gene as a data analyst/research associate. Devanshi holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/molecular biology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a master’s degree in forensic sciences with a concentration in forensic molecular biology from George Washington University.

Kathy Nguyen, Criminalist II

SFPD Criminalistics Laboratory

Kathy Nguyen has been a Criminalist II in the DNA Unit of the SFPD Criminalistics Laboratory for approximately two and a half years. Prior to that, she was a Criminalist at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab for approximately ten years, performing casework in DNA, latent print processing, and crime scene processing.Kathy received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UC Davis, with a minor in Psychology, and a master’s degree in Forensic Science from Pace University.
