Empower your research with a $10,000 grant
Every research idea has the potential to make an impact – and we’re here to help yours become a reality.
If you’re an MSc or PhD student working in cancer research, microbiome/microbiology or sustainability research, we would like to invite you to apply for our Young Scientist Research Grant. A total of five grants will be awarded. Each grant recipient will receive:
- $5,000 worth of QIAGEN consumables
- A one-year CLC Workbench Premium License worth $5,000
In addition, we are going to feature your research on our website and social media channels to highlight your contributions to the scientific community.

How to apply
Simply share your ideas and challenges with us by completing the application form below by April 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM (GMT+0).
Our panel of experts will select the winning submissions for each of the following life science research areas:
- Cancer research: Focuses on understanding, diagnosing and developing strategies to prevent or treat cancer.
- Microbiome/Microbiology: Encompasses the study of microorganisms and their roles in health, disease and environmental processes.
- Sustainability research: Investigates approaches to promote ecological balance, reduce environmental impact and foster sustainable development.
At least one grant will also be awarded to an MSc student working in any one of these areas.

Eligibility
Applications are open to students currently enrolled or accepted into an MSc or PhD program in the European Union, the UK and Ireland and the North American regions. Your research must also fall under one of the life science research areas stated above.
What’s included in the research grant?
As a research grant recipient, you will receive a consumables package worth up to US$5,000 and a one-year license for CLC Workbench Premium worth US$5,000.
For the consumables package, the grant recipient can select any products from our life science consumables products.
