For the transport and storage of cervical specimens prior to HC2 HPV testing
Features
Designed for use with the digene HC2 HPV DNA Test
Designed for use with the digene HC2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test
Product Details
The digene Specimen Transport Medium provides a unique buffer formulation for the transport and storage of cervical specimens.
Performance
DNA stored at –20°C is stable for at least 3 years and up to 3 freeze-thaw cycles will not affect the integrity of DNA (1).
Principle
digene Specimen Transport Medium (STM) has an added preservative to retard bacterial growth and to retain the integrity of DNA. The STM is not intended to preserve viability of organisms or cells, and the specimens that are collected in STM cannot be used for culture or other testing methods.
Procedure
Place the cervical specimen in a polypropylene transport tube containing 1.0 ml of digene Specimen Transport Medium. Securely cap the tube with a screw cap, label, transport, and store at –20°C until subsequently tested using the digene HC2 HPV DNA Test or the digene HC2 High-Risk HPV DNA.
Applications
The digene Specimen Transport Medium is used for transportation and storage of cervical specimens prior to testing with the digene HC2 HPV DNA Test and digene HC2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test.
