The artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 is a ready-to-use molecular detection kit for real-time PCR on ABI PRISM 7000, 7700, and 7900HT Sequence Detection Systems. The kit provides all necessary reagents optimized for rapid and sensitive detection of HAV RNA from human serum and plasma samples with highly accurate quantification.

To ensure sensitivity, the artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 has been optimized to detect low numbers of HAV RNA. The analytical sensitivity of the kit is 0.2 IU/μl in the PCR on the ABI PRISM 7000 SDS and 0.1 IU/μl in the PCR on the ABI PRISM 7700 SDS and the ABI PRISM 7900HT SDS.

For reliable specificity, testing of the artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 was carried out using various HAV strains, including all relevant genotypes (IA, IB, II, IIIA, VII), and related pathogens.

The artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 is based on the amplification and simultaneous detection of a highly conserved region within the HAV genome using real-time PCR. The kit provides high levels of specificity and sensitivity.

The artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 provides 4 HAV quantitation standards (see figure " Reliable quantitation of HAV load"). Use of the standards enables accurate quantitation of viral load. In addition, the kit contains a second heterologous amplification system to identify possible PCR inhibition. This is detected as an internal control (IC) in a different fluorescence channel from the analytical PCR. The detection limit of the analytical HAV RT-PCR is not reduced.

The artus HAV TM RT-PCR Kit v2.0 provides all necessary reagents optimized for reliable HAV RNA detection and quantitation. Simply add template RNA to the ready-to-use PCR master mix, and start the reaction on the appropriate real-time cycler using the optimized cycling program described in the kit handbook.

For RNA purification, we recommend using the QIAamp UltraSens Virus Kit, QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit, QIAamp DSP Virus Kit, or QIAamp DNA Stool Mini Kit.
